Fineline Features along with Movieline Magazine hosted the Los Angeles screening of THE ANNIVERSARY PARTY, a joint venture of actor Alan Cummings and Jennifer Jason Leigh that also co-wrote and co-directed the project about a couple that has reunited after a year separation in honor of their six wedding anniversary. The project was filmed with a modest budget and digital video; it takes place in a 24hr. timespan with a few close friends invited for the celebration of Joe (Cummings) and Sally's (Leigh) nuptials. What ensues is a complex and emotionally charged performance from a well oiled ensemble cast about the frail state of relationships and modern love after
the presence of a certain "gift" is shared.
Attending the celebrity get together were cast members Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alan Cummings, Jennifer Beals, John C. Reilly, Jane Adams, Michael Panes, Mina Badie and Matt McGrath. Hot on their heels were some familiar faces such as Camryn Manheim, Fran Drescher, Holly Hunter, Saffron Burrows, Samantha Mathis, Ben Chaplin, Mimi Rogers, Julian Sands, Eric Idle and Aimmee Mann and Michael Penn.
