Growing up in a family of actors, she began at a young age. Her first big break came as a teenager with a role in the Movie of the Week "Harvest Home", which starred Bette Davis. Several television roles followed, including an Afterschool Special and a part on the series "James at 15", before her talents led to her film debut in "Gorp". Since then she has acted in a steady stream of films, including John Sayles' "Baby, It's You," "Fathers and Sons" (1986) with Jeff Goldblum "The Linguini Incident, " Martin Scorsese's segment of "New York Stories", "Flight of the Intruder", "Silverado", "S.O.B.", "Amazon Women on the Moon, "
"Eight Million Ways to Die", and "More American Graffiti." She feels particularly proud of her off-beat roles in such independent films as "After Hours", "Nobody's Fool" and "Desperately Seeking Susan". Ms. Arquette continues her work on television, she starred with Anthony Perkins in the NBC Movie of the Week, "In The Deep Woods", and also in "Son of the Morning Star, " "The Long Way Home", "The Class of '65", "Get Patty Hearst", "State of Terror" and Showtime's "The Wrong Man", with John Lithgow and Kevin Anderson. She was nominated for an Emmy for her work in the controversial "The Executioner's Song."
