Biography: Fred Astaire was born Frederick Austerlitz was born on May 10, 1899 in Omaha, Nebraska. He got into show business at the age of 5. He started his career doing vaudeville and Broadway shows with his sister Adele. Soon after, Astaire went on to sign with "RKO" and form a partnership with Ginger Rogers. They performed together 10 times. He starred in films like "Shall We Dance, Funny Face, and On The Beach".
