Angela Bassett Biography: Angela Bassett was born in New York, New York on 8/16/1958. She graduated from Yale with a degree in drama on a scholarship. Her first appearance was in "Doubletake" (85) as a prostitute but soon took on a more prestigious role in the 86' series "F/X". Her first memorable acting performance was in "What's Love Got to Do with It" (93) as Tina Turner.
