Julie Benz Videos

Julie Benz Biography: Julie came from a family of ice skaters and a whole family of doctors. Her father is a well-respected surgeon in Pittsburgh. she met her manager, Vincent Cirrincione and started going to auditions in NY. She got a role as an extra in a movie called "Street Law". When she was about 15 she got involved in a local modeling agency which lead to her first talking film "Two Evil Eyes". It was two Edgar Allan Poe stories put together. She worked with Harvey Kietel who at that time had no idea who he was. A year later at age 16 she got a role on a TV show "Hi Honey, I'm Home!" but she wasn't prepared for the working atmosphere and was happy when the show cancelled. She continued to study acting locally and was later accepted to NYC. After graduating college she moved to LA to further pursue her acting career. Julie immediately landed a part on "Married...With Children and the Aaron Spelling pilot "Cross Town Traffic".  Julie continued to go to auditions and got many roles, but It was 1997 when she really made her big break. She auditioned for the role of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", but wasn't even close to getting the role. Later she got a phone call asking if she wanted to be a vampire and she agreed. Originally her character was called "Vampire girl" and was only supposed to be in one episode. They liked her so much that they extended the part and named her "Darla". Months later she played a Receptionist in "As Good As It Gets". She had just one scene with Jack Nicholson where she asked "How do you write women so well?" Melvin Udall (Nicholson) responded "Easy. I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability". Her one scene was put into the trailer for the film and really helped make things happen for her career.  According to Julie acting is the only possible means to make a living, but she would be willing to try work as a producer. She directed a high school play once, but couldn't get people to memorize their lines. She couldn't be mean.
Julie married actor and comedian Jon Kassir in 1998. Jon is better know as the voice of the "Crypt Keeper." He once beat out Sinbad on Star Search.
