Biography:Actor Jeff Bridges was born on December 4, 1949 in Los Angeles, California and got his start in the entertainment industry when he was four months old making his debut film appearance in 1950's The Company She Keeps. Acting is in his blood, though, because both his late father Lloyd and kid brother Beau are accomplished actors as well. At 22 he gained recognition for his work in the film The Last Picture Show and was again critically acclaimed three years later for his work in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. In the seventies and eighties Jeff continued to make quality films, and his more recent films include 1998's The Big Lebowski and 1999's Arlington Road.

Quote: "As far as the lack of hits goes, I think perhaps it's because I've played a lot of different roles and have not created a persona that the public can latch on to. I have played everything from psychopathic killers to romantic leading men, and in picking such diverse roles I have avoided typecasting."
