Biography: Charlie Chaplin was born on 4/16/1889, in London, England. Chaplin is known for being the greatest silent film actor of all-time. His character in the silent films was that of a tramp, a short man with a black moustache who waddled like a penguin. He used that character in films like "The Kid and The Gold Rush". In 72 he received a lifetime achievement Oscar for his silent work and his unique brand of comedy.
