Biography: Ellen DeGeneres was born on 11/26/1958 in Metairie, Louisiana. In 81 she began performing her comedy act at "Clyde's Comedy Club". In 82 she
won "Showtime's Funniest Person In America" competition. She gained more popularity when she performed on the "Johnny Carson Show" in 1986. In 1994 DeGeneres got her own sitcom called "Ellen". On the show Ellen announced her homosexuality in a special one-hour episode.
