Biography: Johnny Depp in Owensboro, Kentucky. Though his initial dream was to become a rock and roll star after taking up the guitar, Depp's looks soon took charge he got his acting debut in the movie "Nightmare on Elm Street". After attending acting school, Depp then starred in the movie "Platoon" and the television series "21 Jumpstreet". Though scandal dogged him for the next few years, Depp achieved great success in the movie "Edward Scissorhands". From that point on his work has rarely been less than stellar, appearing in such films as "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and "Donnie Brasco". Recently, appeared in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "The Ninth
Gate".
