Biography: Kirk Douglas was born Issur Danielovitch Demsky on 12/9/1916 in Amsterdam, New York. In Douglas' career he has had a role in 82 films, 9 plays, six books, and a host of other contributions to his art. His film credits include roles in films like "Spartacus and Lust For Life". He received a Golden Globe for Best Actor in Lust For Life. In 96, Douglas won an honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement.
