Biography: Robert Downey Jr. was born 4/4/1965 in New York, New York. He began his acting career at age 5, playing a puppy in Pound, a film directed by his father. Downey got his first big break in 85 when he landed a role on the comedic TV classic "Saturday Night Live." After a year on the show, Downey moved on to roles in film. Some of his more prominent roles are in "Less Than Zero, Bill Bush in Short Cuts, and Charlie Chaplin in Chaplin". More recently, Downey has appeared in the TV series "Ally McBeal".
