June 1, 2001, Mann's National Theater , Westwood, CA.

I guess you can go home again, what am I talking about you say? Well isn't it ironic that David Duchovny gets to chase down aliens once again in this Ivan Reitman Sci-Fi comedy, except this time he is not working for the government and what about the fact that his costar is a redhead, a lot like his television counterpart, hmmm. Ok enough of that, this was in a lot of ways a home coming for director Ivan Reitman to return to his comedic roots and he thought to put Duchovny in the title role (the pair worked together in "Beethoven.") of community college professor Dr. Ira Kane. Along with Duchovny his trio of costars also arrived for the screening included Orlando Jones, Sean W. Scott, Julianne Moore and director Ivan Reitman. Also present for the unspooling was "X-Files" alumni Nick Lea and Judson Scott much to the praise of the onlookers, who were obviously fans of the cult show.

The film kicks off when aspiring fireman (Scott) witnesses the fall of a meteor and enlists the help of local community college professors Duchovny and Jones to investigate. They discover lifeforms rapidly growing and causing havoc causing the government to act and bring in their own specialist (Moore). The team then go out and attempt to hault the evolution of these new life forms with a few yucks in between. The Dreamworks SKG film opened nationwide on June 8, 2001.
