Biography: Richard Gere was born on 8/31/1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and for a time wanted to be a musician. However, eventually Gere drifted to England and starred in the musical "Grease". From there he returned to the states and made a name for himself on Broadway. Soon, Gere moved on to the silver screen and appeared in such films as "American Gigolo" and the career making "An Officer and a Gentleman". His next big hit came with "Pretty Woman" and since then he has starred in "Final Analysis, Primal Fear, The Jackal, and Runaway Bride".
