Biography: Actor Ed Harris was born in Tenafly, New Jersey on 11/28/1950 and attended Colombia University on a football scholarship. However, Harris dropped out of college to pursue a career in acting and went on to star in a number of theater productions before hitting it big in the 83 film "The Right Stuff." Though for a long time after "The Right Stuff" in 1989 came "The Abyss." From there Harris starred in such popular films as "The Firm," "Apollo 13," "The Rock," and "The Truman Show."
