Biography: Actor Phil Hartman was born on 9/24/1948 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, but grew up in Connecticut and Southern California. In 1975 Hartman joined the improvisational comedy group "The Groundlings" and decided acting was his true calling. In 86 he joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live" and stayed on the show for 8 seasons. In 95 he left the show and appeared on the sitcom "News Radio" in addition to a variety of movies. Tragically, though, on May 28, 98 Phil Hartman was found dead in his home.
