Biography: Born on 5/13/1939 in Brooklyn, New York. He began working in a number of off - Broadway productions. However, after answering an open casting call by new, untrained filmmaker Martin Scorsese, Keitel was cast in the movie "Who's That Knocking at My Door?" A friendship developed between the two, and Keitel went on to star in such Scorsese films as "Mean Streets" and "Taxi Driver." Today, Keitel is among the most respected of actors in Hollywood, an his resume includes such films as "The Piano," "Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction," and "From Dusk Till Dawn."
