Biography: Actor Ben Kingsley was born in Snaiton, Yorkshire, England on 12/31/1943 and began working with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 67. His big screen break came when he played Mhatma Ghandi in the movie "Ghandi," and for his efforts he won the Best Actor Oscar at the 82 Academy Awards. From there Kingsley went on to star in such movies as "Bugsy," "Schindler's List," "Species," and "Rules of Engagement."
