Sophia Loren Biography: Sophia Loren was born 9/20/1934 in Pozzuoli, Italy. Her Academy Award-winning performance in "La Ciociara" in '61 rocketed her into the public eye. She continued to gain a great deal of recognition with roles in movies such as "Cassandra Crossing" and "Una Giornata Particolare".
