Steve Martin was born on August 14, 1945 in Waco, TX. When Steve was 18, he started performing 4 shows a day at Knott's Berry Farm. Steve a job as a comedy writer for "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour". Soon, he was approached by Lorne Michaels about joining Michaels' "Not Ready For Prime Time Players" on a new show -- Saturday Night Live. The show, as we all know, was a huge success in the 2nd half of the 1970's, and Steve Martin played an integral part in that success. Martin made 3 comedy albums in the '70's, and starred in his first major motion picture, "The Jerk". Steve made another comedy LP in 1981, and starred or made an appearance in more than a dozen movies before 1990. During the
early 90's, Steve made some of his most memorable movies, including "L.A. Story", "Roxanne", and "A Simple Twist of Fate" -- all of which he wrote the screenplays for -- as well as "Father of the Bride" and "Housesitter". Martin also wrote the screenplay and starred in his latest movie,1999's "Bowfinger".
