Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

DECEMBER 15, 2002, THE CINERAMA DOME, HOLLYWOOD, CA.
The continuation of the classic J.R.R. Tolkien fable continues with The Two Towers and in true Hollywood spirit a premiere was held in its' honor. Present to share the yelps and yells amid the red carpet were stars Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen, Orlando Bloom, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monahan, Liv Tyler, John Rhys Davies, Sean Astin, Sala Baker, composer Howard Shore and new castmembers Bernard Hill, Brad Dourif, Karl Urban, Miranda Otto, David Wenham and Andy Serkis. Those Hollywood thespians wanting to be counted as true fans of the Tolkein tale included Ethan Hawke, Alex Kingston, Amy Smart, Michael Rosenbaum, Erika Christensen, Catherine Bell, Kate Bosworth, Nona Gaye, Ming-Na, Jill Hennessy, Amanda De Cadenet and Mike Erwin and Chris Pratt of EVERWOOD.

The Fellowship is divided with Frodo and Samwise alone on the quest to destroy the ring of power in the fires of Mordor. Boromir lies slain at the hands of Saruman's new army of Uruk-Hai which in turn have take Merry and Pippin hostage back to Isengard. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli pusue the Uruk-Hai but not before meeting with ousted Rohan warrior Eomer. The trio, with the help of the resurrected Gandalf free King Theoden from the clutches of Grima Wormtongue, an evil lieutenant of Saruman. Meanwhile the former ring bearer Gollum stalks Frodo and Samwise who then helps the duo on their quest after being captured. On the way to Mount Doom the new fellowship encounters Faramir brother to the fallen Boromir on the road to Gondor, while Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli battle Saruman's new army at the fortress of Helm's Deep. Isengard also falls under attack by an unlikely army of allies two hobbits thought killed and a group of angry trees. The war for the domination of Middle Earth has just begun!

Complete with his kilt Billy Boyd returns as hobbit Peregrin 'Pippin' Took.	Brad Dourif adds his own brad of evil, a genre favorite as Grima Wormtongue ally of the nefarious Saruman.
The ever loyal Sean Astin as Sam 'Samwise' Gamgee.	Miranda Otto stars as the lovely Eowyn.
Andy Serkis gives life to the tortured Gollum/Smeagol.	Composer Howard Shore returns to the classic tale with yet another powerful soundtrack.
King Theoden of Rohan played with conviction by actor Bernard Hill.	Mike Erwin, star of the upcoming THE HULK can currently be seen as the comatose boyfriend of the WB's EVERWOOD.
Chris Pratt stars as Bright Abbott on EVERWOOD	Sala Baker is one of Saruman's soldiers called Uruk-Hai.
Getting chummy at the Los Angeles premiere were stars Bernard Hill and Sala Baker.	Another returning hobbit Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck aka Dominic Monahan sits in a tree for most of the film.
Alex Kingston of the NBC staple ER loves her Tolkien.	Villian in the making Lex Luthor or rather the actor that plays him Michael Rosenbaum of SMALLVILLE
Erika Christensen can currently be seen in THE BANGER SISTERS	David Wenham is Faramir, brother to the slain Boromir and the latest warrior from Gondor seeking to possess the ring of power.
John Rhys Davies is back as the axe wielding dwarf Gimli in addition to supplying the voice to Treebeard.	Continuing to carry the fate of middle Earth was Elijah Wood as the heroic and brave Frodo Baggins.
A pregnant Catherine Bell is still a delectable dish in our eyes.	First seen surfing the beaches in BLUE CRUSH, Kate Bosworth will now star alongside Val Kilmer as porn star John Holmes in WONDERLAND.
Have camera will travel, modern Renaissance man Viggo Mortensen continues his adventure as Aragorn savior of man and king of Gondor.	Viggo Mortensen, Sala Baker, Karl Urban all make nice at the Hollywood premiere.
Karl Urban joins the fray as the banished warrior of Rohan Eomer.	Nona Gaye is the newest face in the MATRIX universe as freedom fighter Zee.
Returning as the elf Arwen is the enchanting Liv Tyler.	Orlando Bloom takes a moment to pose for a photo with the media.
The master archer Legolas defends the survivors of Rohan as Orlando Bloom builds his fan following outside the fairy tale.	Former Mrs. John Taylor, Amanda De Cadenet and daughter Atlanta spend an afternoon in Middle Earth.
Hearthrob Ethan Hawke makes a grand appearance on ABC's ALIAS this season.	Asian beauty Ming-Na still punches the clock at NBC's ER.
Shassy Jill Hennessy can be seen Monday nights on CROSSING JORDAN as Boston medical examiner Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh on NBC.	So whats' on Amy Smart's agenda? How about BLIND HORIZON with Val Kilmer to start off with.
