DECEMBER 15, 2002, THE CINERAMA DOME, HOLLYWOOD, CA.
The continuation of the classic J.R.R. Tolkien fable continues with The Two Towers and in true Hollywood spirit a premiere was held in its' honor. Present to share the yelps and yells amid the red carpet were stars Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen, Orlando Bloom, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monahan, Liv Tyler, John Rhys Davies, Sean Astin, Sala Baker, composer Howard Shore and new castmembers Bernard Hill, Brad Dourif, Karl Urban, Miranda Otto, David Wenham and Andy Serkis. Those Hollywood thespians wanting to be counted as true fans of the Tolkein tale included Ethan Hawke, Alex Kingston, Amy Smart, Michael Rosenbaum, Erika Christensen, Catherine Bell, Kate Bosworth, Nona Gaye, Ming-Na, Jill Hennessy, Amanda De Cadenet and Mike Erwin and Chris Pratt of EVERWOOD.

The Fellowship is divided with Frodo and Samwise alone on the quest to destroy the ring of power in the fires of Mordor. Boromir lies slain at the hands of Saruman's new army of Uruk-Hai which in turn have take Merry and Pippin hostage back to Isengard. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli pusue the Uruk-Hai but not before meeting with ousted Rohan warrior Eomer. The trio, with the help of the resurrected Gandalf free King Theoden from the clutches of Grima Wormtongue, an evil lieutenant of Saruman. Meanwhile the former ring bearer Gollum stalks Frodo and Samwise who then helps the duo on their quest after being captured. On the way to Mount Doom the new fellowship encounters Faramir brother to the fallen Boromir on the road to Gondor, while Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli battle Saruman's new army at the fortress of Helm's Deep. Isengard also falls under attack by an unlikely army of allies two hobbits thought killed and a group of angry trees. The war for the domination of Middle Earth has just begun! 

Complete with his kilt Billy Boyd returns as hobbit Peregrin 'Pippin' Took.

Brad Dourif adds his own brad of evil, a genre favorite as Grima Wormtongue ally of the nefarious Saruman.

The ever loyal Sean Astin as Sam 'Samwise' Gamgee.

Miranda Otto stars as the lovely Eowyn.

Andy Serkis gives life to the tortured Gollum/Smeagol.

Composer Howard Shore returns to the classic tale with yet another powerful soundtrack.

King Theoden of Rohan played with conviction by actor Bernard Hill.

Mike Erwin, star of the upcoming THE HULK can currently be seen as the comatose boyfriend of the WB's EVERWOOD.

Chris Pratt stars as Bright Abbott on EVERWOOD

Sala Baker is one of Saruman's soldiers called Uruk-Hai.

Getting chummy at the Los Angeles premiere were stars Bernard Hill and Sala Baker.

Another returning hobbit Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck aka Dominic Monahan sits in a tree for most of the film.
