Continuing a Los Angeles tradition, celebrities from the world of film & television congregated early Saturday morning at the 43rd Annual Hollywood Stars game to do battle on the diamond of World Series champions, The Los Angeles Dodgers. Making his all-star debut was MATRIX star Keanu Reeves with his Dogstar bandmates; fresh from his stint in the film HARDBALL. Other well known stars that made a return engagement at Chavez Ravine included director Garry Marshall, Jonathan Silverman, Mark Harmon,  Kevin James, Bradley Whitford and Drake Hogestyn. BAYWATCH's main man David Hasselhoff started off the game by singing the National Anthem. Highlights included an extra from the PLANET OF THE APES film, filling in as a pitching coach and a moment of silence was observed for the death of Billy Barty, a longtime participant of the game; this was the first year he was absent. The outcome of the game came to a close 5-4 victory for the Hollywood team against the Stars team and the part time athletes took their moment on the field with more respect for the players after the game. Anthony Edwards of ER fame (season ticket holder and new voice for the Dodger television campaign) summed it up best when he said, "I work in an ER, whatever happens here they can fix on the show. It's the bruised ego they can't fix."
