Aerosmith And KISS...Fact or Fiction?
By Laura Alber
MTV Icons™, "Aerosmith" have been a prominent figure these last couple of years, earning yet another Grammy nod this year with "Girls of Summer", The Dodge commercials, Spider-Man Soundtrack, the infamous Superbowl appearance, and so much more. Their latest effort is to be a complete CD filled with the sounds of the blues. They are currently working on this latest album since their tour dates are finally at an end for the "Just Push Play" tour. They have also signed up for a "Concert Presented by Martin Scorsese" called “Salute to the Blues”, at Radio City
Music Hall, New York, New York, 2/7/03, 8:00 p.m.
Legendary rockers "KISS" has been busy as well. Proving to be the longest "Farewell Tour" in history, the gang is still going strong! Along with their tour schedules, they also manage to fit in quite a few Red Carpet Premiere Movie Screenings.
The latest rumor, cited by sources such as MTV, VH1, Billboard and more, is that "Aerosmith" and "KISS" may possibly be co-headlining a summer tour this year. "KISS" will be in full makeup and prolonging their "Farewell Tour", while "Aerosmith" will most likely be promoting their new Blues Album. If the rumor is true, sources say the tour would probably be from August through October in Arenas throughout North America.
Kiss bassist and vocalist Gene Simmons originally went public on the issue in a February 2002 USA Today Web chat. "Would we like to play with Aerosmith? Sure," he wrote. "We've known each other for 30 years and actually played together for the first time three decades ago. We think they're terrific."
Since the time Gene went public, the rumors have been flying. And, the most recent ones have actually been cited from January of this year. If these rumors are true, this could possibly be the biggest event of all time in concert history.
Stay tuned for more info as we get it!!! Start saving those $$'s...this concert won't be cheap!!!
