WILLIAM SHATNER BEAMS UP FOR THE LAST TIME FOR SPPLAT ATTACK! ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 31ST The INFAMOUS STAR TREK CAPTAIN WILL ONCE AGAIN LEAD THE FEDERATION INTO BATTLE AGAINST THE KLINGONS AND THE BORG AT THE NATIONS LARGEST PAINTBALL COMPETITION EVER! Beverly Hills, CA (August 14, 2002) – Sci-Fi icon William Shatner (Star Trek) will host and participate in the largest paintball game ever, SPPLAT ATTACK! An estimated 2000 players will simultaneously play a Star Trek scenario paintball game called SPPLAT ATTACK! The event will be documented by Creative Light Entertainment and Melis Productions on location at Challenge Park Xtreme in Joliet, Illinois Saturday, August 31st. Fans will have a “one-of-a-kind” opportunity to participate in the paintball competition and proceeds from the event will be donated to the Hollywood Charity Horse Show.
This will be the last opportunity for fans to see Shatner bringing the spirit of Captain Kirk back to life. So, whether enthusiasts want to defend the world's best known "Captain" or would prefer to "Spplat Shatner," this is the chance of a lifetime to join thousands of others for a great cause. The Hollywood Charity Horse Show benefits Ahead With Horses, a non-profit therapeutic riding organization that assists approximately 200 severely disabled children each month in Los Angeles and LA's BEST, which provides a safe and supervised after school education, enrichment and recreation program for children ages 5 to 12. “William Shatner is the John Wayne of our generation and I think every fan of Star Trek would relish the opportunity to fight side-by-side with their favorite Captain. SPPLAT ATTACK! is going to be the ultimate fantasy camp experience for every Trekkie” says executive producer Scott Zakarin. In this one of kind paintball scenario game, Shatner and his Federation team will try to defeat the Klingon and Borg teams before they can destroy or capture a newly discovered planet. Shatner will lead his army like only he can; with dynamic strategy, rallying speeches and the willingness to take matters into his own hands when the chips are down. Shatner will be surrounded by the elite Red Shirt Brigade, an “away team” that would sacrifice their lives for the Captain and the mission. Meanwhile, nationally syndicated radio personality, Mancow, will direct the charge of the savage and untrustworthy Klingons, who only want to pillage the planet of its treasure and resources before destroying it. World renowned paintball player, Tom Kaye, will head up a Borg team that is obsessed with assimilating
the planet and every warrior that gets in their way.
