August 26, 2001, Westin Hotel Lax, Los Angeles, CA.

Essentially it is you guys from fandom that keep the life is of these genre shows alive so please give yourselves a hug pat on the back. With that said let us return to the closing day of the Reunion Convention in sunny Los Angeles. The previous evening featured a rocking evening with Jim Byrnes' "Evening at Joe's."

The day started early at 10:00 with a story hour with Donna Lettow and Ginjer Buchanan which was promptly followed by a screening and commentary of "Methuselah's Gift." with cast members Adrian Paul, Peter Wingfield, Elizabeth Gracen, Nadia Cameron Blakey, Ken Gord and F. Braun McAsh. The joking was nonstop by the actors at the expense of each other's performance. It seemed apparent to everyone present that the cast enjoyed their time together as they jabbed each other with good nature. After an hour on stage and a break in between HIGHLANDER star Adrian Paul welcomed his partner Stan Kirsch to the stage. Boy talk about adolescent hijinks, the pair behaved liked brothers and tried to up each other whenever the opportunity arose, it was memorable to witness! After their time onstage Adrian welcomed Elizabeth Gracen, Peter Wingfield and Jim Byrnes to the stage for an impromtu group photo. Needless to say the flash bulbes were a popin' and the hearts of the females were a pumpin'.

Adrian gracefully and cordially vacated the stage for Peter Wingfield and Jim Byrnes' panel at 2:00 that was followed by an hour with Elizabeth Gracen and Nadia Cameron-Blakey. Finally the last panel to grace the stage was the Highlander Behind the Scenes with Donna Lettow and Gillian Horvath closing up shop at 5:00 on a nice Sunday afternoon.

So with another convention under my belt I just can't help but wonder if there will be another installment of Highlander for these fans to enjoy, since the last cinematic outing was less than stellar it really makes me wonder. The thought of Bill Panzer wanting to make the franchise into a musical only makes me shutter so I guess I would have to say that the longer the show stays off the air the less likely, out of sight out of mind. I guess Highlander will have to join the other genre shows that are now defunct like ALIEN NATION, QUANTUM LEAP, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE SENTINEL, SEAQUEST, EARTH 2, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, etc. in the heap of yesteryear...
