October 28, 2001, El Capitan Theater, Hollywood, CA.

With the team of Mike Wazowski and James P. "Sully" Sulivan in the service of providing their fair city with power from the screams of children, business must be constant. All that changes when a child from the other side follows the pair through the closet door into their home of Monstropolis. Since monsters are deadly afraid of contact from a child panic ensues as the duo true to send "Boo" back. Meanwhile competing monster Randall Boggs tries to take advantage of the situation by taking over Sully's top spot as Monster Inc.'s top scream getter.

Disney took over Hollywood at their historic El Capitan Theater providing premiere goers with a live show prior to the screening and a journey into Monstropolis adjacent to the theater after the performance. Joining the team of Mike and Sully were the actors that supplied their voices, Billy Crystal and John Goodman as well as Boo herself Mary Gibbs. Other kids at heart in attendance included David Hasselhoff, Lorenzo Lamas, Don Cheadle, Brian Robbins, Jo Champa, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Alan Thicke, Jon Voight, Kirstie Alley and Sisqo.
