UPDATE:

It's Scares Aplenty as 'Scary Movie 4' Revs Up
15 April 2003
Are you scared enough yet? With an October release date set for sequel Scary Movie 3, Variety reports that Dimension Films is already making plans for a fourth Scary flick, appropriately titled Scary Movie 4. Production is expected to start in June for a first-quarter 2004 release, and will reunite the folks behind Scary Movie 3 – director David Zucker and writers Craig Mazin and Pat Proft. The newest Scary flick will also feature a skewering of superhero films as well as horror flicks. It's expected that some of the previous cast members will return (though no names have been mentioned), and other roles are currently under consideration.

UPDATE:

Production is scheduled to start sometime in July, 2003 in Vancouver, British Columbia, just a few weeks after Scary Movie 3 wrapped up there in late June, 2003.

UPDATE:

Anna Faris on Scary Movie 3 & Scary Movie 4
AnnaFaris.net Saturday, August 9, 2003

Anna Faris recently told her official website that she has had to go back to Vancouver in order to film re-shoots for Scary Movie 3, which explains the release date change to October 24.

Anna has stated that she is not involved in Scary Movie 4. She loves playing Cindy Campbell, but wants to move on her career regarding acting. There is a possibility that she may return, but it depends on the popularity and release of the movie when released on October 24.

Anna also said that they are definitely shooting the film for a PG-13 rating, which will give the opportunity for more people to see the movie. The crude sexual humor has been cut down majorly, but not completely gone. Pamela Anderson's statement about the film was correct, it will be PG-13.

UPDATE:

Dimension Films has hired Scary Movie 3 screenwriter Craig Mazin to pen Scary Movie 4.
