UPDATE:
Spider-Man Maguire Voices Mea Culpa
12 May 2003
Tobey Maguire has admitted that his own "inappropriate" behavior led to his being fired from Sony's Spider-Man sequel, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday, noting that he was hired back due to the intercession of Universal chief Ron Meyer, whose daughter Maguire is dating. The actor said that he failed to discuss a painful back condition appropriately with producer Laura Ziskin or director Sam Raimi. "A lot of this problem comes from me not having gone to them personally and trying to resolve it," he told the Times. "I'm glad I got to look these people in the face and say, 'I'm really sorry. I'm going to do whatever it takes, '" Maguire added.
UPDATE:
Production in New York City wrapped up on May 13th, 2003, with the rest of the filming now moving to the sets in Los Angeles.
UPDATE:
"Variety" reported this week that we're likely to see the first teaser/trailer in theaters in November. Greg from Yahoo guesses it might be attached to Tim Burton's Big Fish (which *could* be released in November, and is a Sony project) and/or The Matrix: Revolutions.
