JURASSIC PARK: OPERATION GENESIS

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis combines two of my favorite things in video game form: simulation games and chaos. JP:OG is another in the long line of entertaining Sim games like Sim City, Sim Earth and The Sims. It's superior to its predecessors not only in sound and picture quality, but the games asks much more of the player in setting itself up not to mention a more reasonable budget for running the scenario.

The player must design and build Jurassic Park including producing the dinosaurs. I found the threshold issue of producing the dinosaurs to be the most difficult aspect of the game, and the instructions were not all too useful. However, once you've produced your attractions, the game is a blast.

The picture and sound quality are excellent and once you start playing you'll be there for the night so make sure your pantry is stocked with coffee or your local Starbucks delivers. This was one of the best games I've played on my PC in a long while. I strongly suggest you check out www.jpthegame.com and download the Demo for free. I can not recommend this game enough. A perfect 10!

ENCLAVE

Enclave is the perfect example of the old adage that you can never go wrong with a game based upon fantasy realms. This warmed over Dungeons & Dragons is good mindless fun as you go about wrecking mayhem upon an assortment of characters and creatures. You begin as a barbarian prisoner turned mercenary, but can change into a variety of other characters as you advance to the next levels. All are armed with the usual medieval weapons and magical powers. The game includes some interesting political intrigues, but its real strength lies with the intensity of its battles.

Originally an Xbox title, Enclave has been ported to your local PC, and those of us with only the latter are well rewarded by the effort. The picture quality is excellent with sharp, detailed textures. I highly recommend this game.
