Movie Synopsis: Dr. Evil and Mini-Me have somehow escaped from a maximum security prison and the duo team up with Goldmember. Together they formulate a plan for world domination. And this particular scheme requires a large amount of time-travel, and kidnapping Austin Powers' father, England's master spy, Nigel Powers. As Austin chases Dr. Evil, Mini-Me and Goldmember through time, he stops in 1975 to "connect" with an old girlfriend, detective Foxy Cleopatra, and requests her help to track the villains and save his father.

The International Man of Mystery is back! But, was it really worth the wait? Austin Powers in Goldmember, is definitely losing its momentum. The franchise is still hoping the flatulence jokes will keep it going, maybe it will for some, but probably not for the masses. The best thing about this sequel is the opening sequence. Everyone has been very good about keeping the details quiet, so I certainly won't ruin it for you! Let's just say, it was the only part of the movie when I was actually "belly-laughing".
Austin Powers in Goldmember is, for the most part, filled with the same tired jokes, scenarios and skits. The old characters returning are of course, Austin Powers, Dr. Evil, his henchmen #2 (Robert Wagner), Frau Farbissina (Mindy Sterling), Scott (Seth Green), Mini Me (Verne Troyer) and Fat Bastard (Myers). "Goldmember", the newest character is far from exciting. Actually, they could have made the movie without him. Mike Myers also plays Goldmember, a very unattractive man with a disgusting skin condition who has had an "unfortunate smelting accident", hence the name "Goldmember."
The plot this time around, involves Goldmember kidnapping Austin's father, played by the wonderful Michael Caine. The basis of the kidnapping seems to be nothing more than a way to bring in Austin Powers for no other apparent reason except to foil his plan of "flooding the world". The unforgivable misuse, or rather lack of scenes, for Michael Caine was very disappointing.
We do have a new shining star however from "Goldmember", Beyoncé Knowles. Knowles plays Foxxy Cleopatra, a "disco queen", Foxy Brown talking diva circa 1975 via the infamous time machine. Foxxy delivered us some good laughs and even a few great tunes. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of Beyoncé in the future; she's definitely got "mojo"!
There is quite a twist at the end of "Goldmember", including Mini Me, and even one with Austin and Dr. Evil. As for the "meat" of the film, don't expect too much. It looks like they just "cloned" the first two films and gave it a new title. The most interesting parts other than the opening sequence were the cameos. The Osborne's were the best! The Zone gives "Austin Powers in Goldmember" a 3 out of 10. Very disappointing after such a long wait.
