Zone's Eye View of "Legally Blonde" |

|
Synopsis of movie, courtesy of MGM Pictures: Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) has it all. She's the president of her sorority, a Hawaiian Tropic girl, Miss June in her campus calendar, and above it all, a natural blonde. She dates the cutest fraternity boy on campus and wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington III. But, there's just one thing stopping Warner (Matthew Davis) from popping the question: Elle is too blonde. Growing up across the street from Aaron Spelling might mean something in LA, but nothing to Warner's East-Coast blue blood family. So, when Warner packs up for Harvard Law and reunites with an old sweetheart from prep school (Selma Blair), Elle rallies all her resources and gets into Harvard, determined to win him back. But law school is a far cry from the comforts of her poolside and the mall. Elle must wage the battle of her life, for her guy, for herself and for all the blondes who suffer endless indignities everyday. Now for The Zone's Eye View By Laura Alber Ok, it might be a bubblegum movie, but I thought it was a scream! Adorable Reese Witherspoon gives a convincing portrayal of a spoiled Beverly Hills girl. This is NOT Clueless...this is a better quality film, better directing, acting, dialogue and casting! Legally Blonde is one of those movies you'll want to watch when you need to kick back and see some silly humor and outrageous costumes! You do find yourself rooting for Elle though, after she finally gets accepted into Harvard Law, she really has to hit the books hard. But, she does it, and definitely proves herself to her professors as well as her ex-boyfriend. It's not all blonde jokes, Elle Woods does have a brain...actually a 4.0 brain, and she also has a heart...she tries to help several people along the way. Wonderful work by Reese! Not quite "Election", but nevertheless, a great performance! I'm anxious to see Legally Blonde 2 and more great work from this young actress. This one I'd give a 6 out of 10.
